JOURNALIST HAS WARNED ON THE SIDE EFFECTS OF BROWN ENVELOPE
The publication, researching and
documentation manager of the media council of Tanzania Mr. John mireni who represented
kajubi mukajanga has visited the school of journalism and mass communication
for the panel discussion and has insisted the journalists to jeopardize on the
issue of brown envelop that for a higher extent affects editorial content and
news reporting in particular
Mr. John mireni has advocated
that the media council of Tanzania has managed to educate the journalists on
the side effects of brown envelops and he then refers to the psychologist Abraham
maslov who suggested that the physiological needs like water and food are to meet
adequately so as to give relief to journalist
Powerful advertisement can definitely
influence editorial content as publication of stories that relates with a
certain company to which portrays negative image may influence the company to
convince the editorial content and editor especially executive editor are much
concern with the distortion of news stories because of bribery. ``Says John
mireni``
He never ended there but he
insisted on the achievement of the media council of Tanzania especially resource center(latest literature)
but also ethical consideration, annual run of mentor ship editorials for young
journalist in which a student will be given all the necessary requirements and
finally the remarks on the issue of brown envelope.
The panel discussion aimed to
bring awareness and experience to the young upcoming journalist of the school
of journalism and mass communication however the event was attended by different
guests and particularly the media council of Tanzania practitioners as well as Mr.
John merini the publication, researching and documentation manager of the media
council of Tanzania who was the guest of honor.
The event took place from 12:00pm
to 4:00pm in which the discussion involved exchange of ideas between the
student of the school of journalism and mass communication and the media
council of Tanzania representatives the situation that gave the student a wide
view to understand different staffs pertaining journalism industry but around
4:00pm a guest of honor winded up the panel discussion.
